Ok so I'm from California where no one does grooms cakes -kind of a tragedy now that I have gotten used to them - because really isn't the world a better place with more cake? And if said cake is no less than a replica of a small deer?? ahhh.. magical.. yes, their grooms cake was a deer... I have no idea who did their cakes but WOW! Meg and Steven please comment so they whole world (okay not the whole world but the choice few who actually read this blog) will know where they too can have an incredibly lifelike animal cake?? Honestly.. soo cool.

Remember how you dream up that aunt and uncle with the really cool house that would offer said house for say.. uhh your wedding? Well Steven ACTUALLY has THAT aunt... pretty cool huh?

When choosing photos for teasers and blogging I not only take into account wanting to show some creativity but I also choose pics simply because they make me smile...I don't normally get to post a lot of the actually ceremony because it is typically hard to get shots of the bride and grooms faces due to venue restrictions.. and I am all about facial expression.. so seeing how as Aunt Sue is incredibly gracious we got some pretty sweet pics of the bride and groom just adoring each other during the ceremony.. everyone together now.. awwwwww.

First off I need to start the post with an apology because Cassandra had an incredible make-up artist whom I vowed to myself I would post her info and here I am posting and I am too lazy to walk up one flight of stairs to get her info.. so please check back to this post for some info to a kick butt make-up artist!

When I think of Cassandra the first word that pops in my head is "classy". She really is. She carries herself with dignity and class.. if the world describes men idealistically with the term "man's man" I would say Cassandra is the quintessential "lady's lady" :)

The wedding was full of little moments that made me smile.. including a wedding processional where the groomsmen were required to walk in with a swagger. Too cool! But the one thing that stands out the most is the dancing.. lots and lots of fun dancing... Cassandra even hired a beautiful young dancer to do an interpretive dance dedicated to Adrian.. very precious and totally unique.

Well now that this couple is married and I need to post their wedding teaser (which will be next but appear before this post.. sorry to confuse..) I figured I needed to put some of their engagement session. Hello?? Before Ike destroyed Kemah boardwalk and tore through Galveston we took these very sweet photos.

If you'll remember Rachel and Kevin are already married (see older post).. but like many couples, they decided rather than stress about doing lots of couples pictures on the day of their wedding they would just take a day to do out after the wedding... the results? Gorgeous! Rachel and Kevin + our 2.8 zoom lens = magic! Like seriously, everytime!! Its almost weird actually.. which is why I included that last pic of them playing spies.. I admit it's a goofy photo creativity wise but I think its strange that 2 such good looking, calm-natured people are together.. almost like they work for some higher up government agency..hmmm???? Hahha.. okay i am a freak...

Our long work hours are finally catching up to me (even though i stand by the fact that I have the best job ever!) But this post will be short and sweet. Baron and Lacey thanks so much for today! Maybe its because they are friends of ours or maybe its because I love photographing kids, or maybe its just because this kid is so flippin' cute - but I couldn't get enough of these photos! Its shoots like these that make me want to just go ahead and post the whole lot of them.. :)

Matthew made me work very hard for a smile... actually no matter how ridiculous I acted this little guy wasn't buying (and believe me, I am a funny girl!!) However, Matthew's smart mommy and daddy brought along a puppet lion that seemed to help out.. that and I think he may have a crush on my 2 year old girl (who tagged along.. don't worry, we spare people we don't know :))

The pic where he looks like he is falling with fear in eyes... its because he IS falling.. Gilbert (Matthew's daddy) saved the day!! and trust me, it was a steep hill and a close call!

Thanks for your patience family.. I am getting them done.. I haven't forgotten you :)

Any proud Aggie will appreciate at least one of these photos! As you can see from all the Aggie rings this wedding was chock full of proud graduates.. we even got to experience a little Aggie war hymn.. I was warned that it might be scary.. and you know what? It kinda was.. but more than that it was actually very cool to see so many people proud and bonded.

In addition to loving the warm caramelly backlight in some of these photos... I have to say I love, love the fact that the DJ's are enjoying a sweet dance together in the background of the bride and groom's dance (BTW the DJ's are Marc and Jill of MJDJ Service... you can check them out at http://www.mjdjservice.com if you are looking for a DJ)

I am supposed to be taking the day off today.. but I just can't help myself! Too many jobs to get post.. sneak previews to update... ugh. Albert and Liz have not only had their engagement shots done but they are now married! In my defense, we shot their engagement pics the week they got married.. but nonetheless they have been very gracious and patient waiting to see some pics...

Galveston keeps on keeping on :) We shot Christine and Joseph's wedding at the San Luis Resort in Galveston... the resort has done such an incredible job you wouldn't know that a horrible hurricane recently wreaked havoc on the island! This wedding (full of many tender moments) brought back some very personal memories of my Memaw who was from Boston which is where many of Christine's family were from.. love that accent.. I need a trip to the north end soon.. anyone getting married in Boston???

Congrats Joe and Christine.. thank you for all the smiles. Please tell your beautiful daughters that I said thanks for all the laughs that day :)

Don't judge me.. but its been a little while since we shot this wedding... but today is update my blog day... and I was thinking about IKE and how it blazed through Galveston and remembered this lovely wedding.. BEFORE Ike hit :)

Great wedding.. huge wedding party - nearly as big as my own! :) The guys were all very much ham's.. although none of them knew what that meant.. Being a "ham" isn't a California term right?? Anywho, regardless of whether or not they knew what it meant - they all were!! Well at least a few hours into it :)

We headed downtown to a place we frequent quite often for photos - Hermann Park - what can I say? People like it there! :) These folks were super natural and super gracious... enter our 6 year old son... we NEVER bring our kids along on photo shoots but he ended up with us for the last half of this photo shoot.. so thanks so much you guys for being gracious when it became a family affair!

After Hermann it was on to Westheimer.... Kelly and I love doing photo shoots on Westheimer - lots of great texture and color always make for great photos.. while we races the setting sun I literally had these guys running to stop at a few different spots on Westheimer.. did I mention how gracious they are?? Oh and also gorgeous - which helps when you make your clients feel rushed!

The very intimate wedding of Megan and Kyle took place at her dad's house.... so he wakes up to this beautiful backdrop every morning!! I realize that I need to start asking Brides who they are wearing because we've seen tons of fabulous dresses and I am sure you all want to know who they are by! This gorgeous brunette had not 1 but 2 off the hook dresses!! :) (same for some of my other brides but I get carried away and forget to blog everything I;m supposed to.. besides, most of you just pop in to look at photos and even read what I have to say.. blah blah blah... thanks for reading that :))

anyway.. go check out the pics.. oooh and check out the radical (yep I said radical ... heheh) tree swing! Its totally something you'd find on a movie set :)

This is a little teaser for the couple and family whose wedding we just shot on Sunday. I know pics are important to you guys but hang in there, I am sorting as fast as my little fingers and brain can thunder through :)

Speaking of the importance of pics... I think the camera to person ratio at this wedding was nearly 1:1 ... every picture being taken had nearly as many people taking the pic as there were in it.. too stinkin' cute!

A couple of things to note here.. Jamie and Daniel included a traditional Chinese Tea Ceremony as part of their wedding day.. I absolutely LOVE this tradition and hope to somehow adapt it into our family one day :) (even though I'm Italian I think we can start something new don't you?). Anyway, back to the couple.. it was very sweet to watch and photograph this exchange. Also the pic with the the grooms ring.. that happens be on the brides' grandmothers handkerchief.. her something old and blue.. love it!

We met up with our petite and beautiful bride downtown at the Meckom-Rockwell Colonnade. This is living proof that no matter how tiny you are, if you know how to work the camera your pics will be priceless... course if you are working with us your pictures will be fantabulous because we are fantabulous and we teach you how to work the camera :) However, there was no lesson needed here. I am not exactly sure how tall Jamie is (nor am I positive she would want me to share that with the world) but she is very petite but check out how tall and gorgeous she looks in her photos :)

We met up with (and actually met for the first time) Steven and Meg at Steven's aunt and uncle's gorgeous house.. which is also where they'll be having their wedding! We all shared a few laughs together as I struggled my way (health wise anyway) through their photo shoot.. thank goodness these are some of the most gracious people on the planet :)
